About Green Policing Riau

Green Policing Riau is a public observatory that compiles satellite and open data on forests, community-managed territories, and tenure conflicts in Riau into one map anyone can check. It is not an official Polri case portal.

What the name means

Green Policing Polda Riau uses the shield-and-leaf mark and the official palette: forest green (#1F4C15) for identity, olive (#8A9A5B) as a soft accent, bright orange (#FF7722) only for action and alerts, and gold for official cues. This site remains a data observatory, not a Polri case portal.

Why it exists

Riau is a crowded landscape: peat, concessions, a national park, kenegerian territories, and farm claims overlap. When forest disappears, indigenous communities and wildlife lose their home. We assemble scattered data so anyone can see, not accuse.

What's on the map

We gather data from credible sources and show it as it is:

Near-real-time deforestation alerts (RADD & GLAD, 10–30 m)
Palm, pulpwood, logging concessions, and the mining footprint
Protected & moratorium areas, National Parks, Wildlife Reserves, Nature Reserves, and more
Flood and landslide events (BNPB DIBI)
Threatened wildlife habitat and occurrences

We don't draw conclusions

We gather and show scattered data, and let the reader judge for themselves. No accusations, no verdicts against anyone.

Every claim is clickable

Anything on the map traces back to its source dataset, with the retrieval date and license.

Reproducible

The whole data pipeline and code are open source. Anyone can re-run it and get the same numbers.

Independent & non-profit

We don't sell data, run ads, or take sides.
